 Derya Bandak

Partner and Head of Dubai office since 2014 | Attorney at Law (Germany), Legal Consultant (UAE)


Ms. Bandak has been working in the legal field for more than 15 years with in-house background as well as private practice experience in Germany. She’s spent half of her professional time in the Middle East region advising clients from Europe in the context of their market entry. Ms. Bandak has vast experience in UAE labor and employment law, as well as in commercial and corporate matters. She supports clients during M&A transactions in the region and advised multinational companies in complex tax matters.

 Tarek Antaki

Senior Associate since 2018 | Attorney at Law (Syria), Legal Consultant (UAE)


Mr. Antaki has more than 7 years of experience in the UAE, and more than 15 total in the Middle East region. He worked as an in-house lawyer for one of the biggest banks in Syria and has comprehensive knowledge in litigation matters in the UAE and GCC countries. He is specialized in supporting our clients in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Due to his experience, legal knowledge and language skills, Mr. Antaki is able to advise our clients cross border in the Middle East region regarding legal and tax matters. He is additionally responsible for litigation tasks such as civil, commercial, conflicts, arbitration and criminal cases.

 Marjorie Arana

Secretary and Admin Assistant since 2019


Ms. Arana is mainly responsible for bookkeeping and accounting, as well as following up on invoices. She had prior experience in sales in the Philippines before moving to the UAE to work as a data entry operator at a German company for 5 years. Her 16 years total of living in the UAE means she is well rounded on the local customs and culture.

 Mohammad El Neemani

Business Consultant since 2014


Mr. El Neemani assisted in setting up the Rödl & Partner office in Dubai in 2014. He began as a public relations officer and progressed to the office's business consultant. He has a lot of experience from working in accounting and admin for 7 years at a contracting company in the UAE prior to joining Rödl & Partner. Mr. El Neemani handles all public relations work, accounting and bookkeeping, and his role also extends to following up with government services and the setting up and liquidation of companies.

 Maria Christina Jimenez

Assistant Secretary since 2017

 

Ms. Jimenez’s role as Assistant Secretary at Rödl & Partner entails coordinating communication between clients and lawyers, and responding to incoming calls and emails. She also handles the office bank account and ensures everyday transactions are recorded and bills are paid. Prior to Rödl & Partner, Ms. Jimenez worked as an Engineering and Architectural Secretary for more than 3 years in the UAE.

 Sebastian Luermann

Lawyer and legal consultant at Rödl & Partner in Dubai since September 2021


Following his school career and high school graduation, he completed his law studies at the University of Regensburg, graduating in 2019 with a focus on commercial law. The current lawyer was already part of the law firm Rödl & Partner in Dubai as a trainee lawyer from January to March 2021.
 
After returning to Germany for a short time and passing the last oral exam, Sebastian Luermann is now permanently working in Dubai as a lawyer and legal consultant for Rödl & Partner since September 2021.
 
In addition to providing comprehensive legal advice to Rödl & Partner, especially in corporate and tax law,

Sebastian mainly handles employment law mandates.

In addition to his native German, he can rely on his

fluent English language skills.

 Nicole Pavlik

Executive Personal Assistant to Derya Bandak since 2020


Ms. Pavlik, a German speaker, has been working for almost a year now as executive personal assistant to the Head of Dubai office, Ms. Derya Bandak. Maintaining structure and organisation in the office, she has lived in the USA for 2 years and has spent 7 years in the UAE. Ms. Pavlik is mainly responsible for coordinating the communication between clients and lawyers. Her role also extends to several other areas such as bookkeeping, invoices, preparing presentations and legalizing documents.

 Omar Sami

Associate Partner, working with Rödl & Partner in Dubai since 2016 | Attorney at Law (Germany), Legal and Tax Consultant (UAE)


Mr. Sami specializes in tax consultation, covering VAT law in the GCC states, as well as withholding tax in Saudi Arabia. He is in close contact with the Federal Tax Authority, maintaining a valuable relationship and network from which our clients benefit. Mr. Sami published the first and only manual about UAE VAT, covering all necessary information about the tax implementation in the region. He frequently participates in webinars and seminars, providing our clients with useful information and updates in all tax related matters. In close collaboration with our German tax colleagues, Mr. Sami is able to not only assess transactions, but also to lead the clients' market entry in the most advantageous way.

 Christopher Stahl

​Working with Rödl & Partner in Dubai since 2022 | Attorney at Law (Germany)


Christopher Stahl has been a lawyer and legal consultant with Rödl & Partner in Dubai since January 2022. His legal career started in Würzburg, where, in addition to his law studies, he also took the accompanying course in European law at the Julius Maximilians University and worked as a research assistant for several chairs. After his second state law examination, Mr. Stahl worked for several major international law firms in Frankfurt, London as well as Dubai.
 
In addition to Rödl & Partner's comprehensive legal services, Christopher mainly handles corporate law mandates. He can draw on more than ten years of professional experience in corporate law and in the legal support of M&A, venture capital and private

equity mandates.

 Luna Yusuf

Joined the tax department of Rödl & Partner Dubai in June 2021


After her bachelor degree in business administration with focus on tax law in Cologne, Luna Yusuf immediately started her taxation master studies in order to write her tax advisor exam afterwards.
 
Luna sees many interesting challenges in the dynamic tax system in the GCC region and is looking forward to future developments, especially with regard to the introduction and development of new tax types. Her prior knowledge of German tax law facilitates her understanding of the recently introduced VAT system in some GCC countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and soon the remaining countries, Kuwait and Qatar. Her language skills in Arabic also enable her to communicate and exchange with local

authorities smoothly.
